Trella Vineyards Opens Bigger Space in Downtown Roseburg

Trella Vineyards recently moved into a bigger space at 642 SE Jackson street adding a new place for wine lovers in downtown Roseburg to enjoy time with friends over a glass of wine. The new location opened in Feb 2021 to provide more space for customers to enjoy their wine along with being a destination downtown. “We opened our original tasting room just two doors down at 642 SE Jackson In July of 2018, but it was quickly apparent that the space was too small, and we started looking at other options,” Trell Vineyards Owner Stephen Williams said. “Our 7-acre vineyard is on Flournoy Valley Road in the Melrose area, but our dream was to have an urban tasting room with the feel of a neighborhood wine bar.” In addition to sampling Trella wines and enjoying tasting flights, customers can order a glass or a bottle with a charcuterie plate or dessert. The Trella Vineyards tasting room occupies a fully renovated 1908 historical building that has served many businesses over the years, including a long stint as a toy shop in the 1960s and 70s. It most recently used to be occupied by the Hair Garage. “Now it’s a great spot for wine tasting and meeting friends,” Stephen Williams said. “Since we like to be a hub for our wine club family, we are open later than most tasting rooms, until 7 PM Thursday-Saturday.” Stephen and Susan started Trella in 2012 when they purchased the Flournoy Valley property, at which time it was an untamed mix of pasture and prairie. “We painstakingly developed it into a 7-acre vineyard over the next few years,” Stephen Williams said. “The first plants were put in the ground in 2013 and we have run it as a family farm since then.” “Although we have been on Jackson Street since 2018, we frequently heard that people had never seen our tiny little tasting room. We are excited that now more people will be able to see us in the new space, across the street from Alexander’s Greek Cuisine. We would love for people to come in and try the wines and discover a new favorite spot in downtown Roseburg.” Once the pandemic is over Trella plans to restart their famous trivia nights and their looking forward to resuming their wine club parties and winemaker dinners.
