Teacher Appreciation Week Runs May 3-7

6:39 PM · May 3, 2021

The Roseburg Public Schools Board of Directors proclaimed May 3-7 as National Teacher Appreciation Week! Stay tuned this week for messages of gratitude to all of the wonderful teachers serving our students. From Superintendent Jared Cordon: Wonderful Roseburg teachers, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to each of you! I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your dedication and commitment to our kids. You have been a constant, guiding light for students throughout a uniquely challenging year and have shown them that they are capable of overcoming obstacles, solving problems with creativity and perseverance, and reaching new heights. In the midst of a pandemic, you have cared for them and have modeled the joy of learning. Students this year have delighted in learning about everything from salmon spawning to outer space, bicycle safety to music theory. You have created those moments when the lightbulb flashes on and your students grasp a new concept for the first time. Thank you for your professionalism, your expertise, and your focus on our kids. The learning and the caring have never stopped, and that is because of you. Although this week is set aside each year in your honor, know that you are celebrated every single day. Thank you for your devotion to our students and their families, to our school district and to our community. May your week be filled with moments in which you are reminded of the incredible impact you have on our community and the world. Enjoy this week of celebration and thank you again for the countless ways you bless the lives of our kids and community. Sincerely, Superintendent Jared Cordon
