Rainfall Expected to Fall Tuesday Over the Bootleg Fire

Some rain is expected on Tuesday, most likely east of the Cascades. Some lightning will accompany the showers, but not much. The bootleg fire is expected to get rainfall. 57 cloud to ground lightning strikes have occurred so far today, mostly east of Bend. On Tuesday there is a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms. The greatest chance for precipitation is from the Cascades east on Tuesday afternoon and evening. When thunder roars, go indoors! Go inside a house, car or sturdy building. Do not seek shelter under trees, stay away from water. Since areas where thunderstorms are expected are very dry, lightning on dry fuels may increase the risk of new wildfires.
