With weather and fire predictive modeling suggesting the potential for significant growth for the multiple fires, we are prepositioning firefighting resources in Douglas County starting tomorrow (8/4) through Saturday (8/7).

The two structural task forces mobilized to Douglas County are from Lincoln and Yamhill Counties and will be stationed in Roseburg. This is a proactive move for the region to be better prepared and to bolster local capacity.

These firefighters are not being assigned to a specific incident at this time but will be an added resource and will increase the state’s readiness.
