Indoor Mask Mandate Returns in Oregon This Friday

Today, Oregon Governor Brown announced the return of an indoor mask mandate in all indoor public settings regardless of vaccination status. This will go into effect starting this Friday, August 13th. The move is in response to the fast spread Delta variant that has been filling up hospitals at a concerning rate across the state of Oregon. Oregon just set new records for daily cases at 2,329 and people hospitalized with COVID-19, at 635. There are also a record 164 people in ICUs across the state. The new mask mandate will be continually reviewed and likely rescinded as hospital capacity improves. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
