Fire Danger Reduced to High On All DFPA Protected Lands

12:17 AM · Aug 23, 2021

Cooler, more moderate weather conditions have allowed the Douglas Forest Protective Association to decrease the fire danger to “HIGH” on all lands protected by DFPA. The reduction in fire danger will take place Monday, August 23rd at 12:01 AM. The Industrial Fire Precaution Level will remain at IFPL III and DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions remain in effect with no changes. Under DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions, a fire danger rating of high allows the general public to conduct the following activities before 10:00 AM or after 8:00 PM: • The cutting, trimming, or mowing of dried or cured grass. This restriction does not apply to the mowing of green lawns. The use of battery or electric powered string trimmers and the culture and harvest of agricultural crops are exempt from this requirement. • The cutting, grinding, or welding of metal for non-industrial purposes. • The use of power saws for non-industrial purposes. • The use of power-driven machinery not specifically mentioned in DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions that is being used on private property for any non-industrial improvement or development. All other restrictions listed under DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions remain in effect and are unchanged. A complete list of DFPA’s Public Use Restrictions can be found online at www.dfpa.net/public-fire-restrictions or by calling DFPA’s 24-hour information line at 541-672-0379. Residents are reminded that additional fire restrictions or closures may be in place through private industrial landowners or public land management agency on the lands they own or manage. Via DFPA
