Douglas County Birds: Lazuli Bunting

Lazuli Buntings can be found throughout the western half of the United States during spring migration including areas across Douglas County. Lazuli buntings eat a wide verity of bugs and insects including Grasshoppers, Ants, Beetles, and Spiders. They can often be seen in thickets, shrubs, and bushy hillsides around Douglas County. They often build there nests in willow or other shrubs and bush's. They make there nests out of grasses, small strips of bark, and leaves. Photo taken by Abraham Finlay in Douglas County
