Aviva Health to Hold Ceremony Celebrating Opening of New Roseburg Facility

5:43 PM · Jun 21, 2022

Aviva Health is holding a ceremony in celebration of the opening of its newest Roseburg facility Wednesday, June 22, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the large second floor conference space of the new building located at 150 NE Kenneth Ford Drive. At the event, donors to the project and community leaders will have an opportunity to mingle with Aviva Health staff and tour the 31,000-sq.-ft. space, which features 34 new family medicine exam rooms, four large procedure rooms, precepting space for the organization’s 24 family medicine resident physicians, administrative space, and a large conference room capable of hosting community events. Outside the facility, an expanded parking lot greets patients and visitors. Aviva Health also installed two electric vehicle charging stations, each with two plugins to provide power to up to four cars at a single time for patients, staff, and the general public. Additionally, the parking area includes two full hookup stations for the organization’s mobile medical units, providing power, sewer connections, and fresh water. Those hookups can alternatively be used by food trucks during outdoor events. A portion of Wednesday’s event includes speakers from Aviva Health and the community who will share their unique perspectives on the impact the new building will have on the community. For Aviva Health, Douglas County’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center, the opening of the new facility could not have come at a better time. This month the organization welcomes its eight newest family medicine resident physicians, bringing the total number of doctors training in Roseburg to 24. In addition to learning the intricacies of providing primary care to people living in a rural community, those physicians also provide direct patient care, improving access to clinical services across a county that is currently recognized by the federal government as a health professional shortage area. It’s Aviva Health’s hope some of those providers will choose to put down roots in Douglas County to practice full-time after the completion of their residency training. With ample conference space, the facility will also serve as a community gathering place. Aviva Health is making the space available free of charge to other community non-profits to host trainings, meetings, fundraising events, and other activities that attract larger groups. Aviva Health is already working with partner non-profit organizations to plan one such annual fundraising event called Hope Springs Eternal, a caused-based initiative that will benefit different local non-profits on a yearly basis. The beneficiary of the inaugural event, slated for May 2023, is Family Development Center, a Roseburg non-profit organization also located on the Jerry Bruce Community Campus, whose mission focuses on nurturing successful and resilient children, strengthening parents, and preserving families to prevent abuse and neglect. “We’re really excited about what this new facility will do for our community, it’s people, and other non-profit organizations whose good work has a positive impact on Douglas County,” says Aviva Health CEO KC Bolton. “This is more than just another health care facility; our intention is this new building will serve as the landing spot for a variety of large gatherings, fortifying community spirit and building relationships between people and the many organizations that serve them.” For more information of Aviva Health, please visit www.aviva.health.
