3:37 PM · Sep 10, 2022Saturday Morning Update 7 am This is a look at the approximate boundary of the Cedar Creek Fire east of Eugene as of Saturday morning. The fire has grown to around 51k acres. This is about 15,000 acres of growth in the past day. All of the Oakridge area remains under level 3 go now evacuation level. The fire has moved approximately 5 miles west in the past 36 hrs. Significant growth is being driven by these east winds. Highway 58 is closed in the area. At 8:20 am, air quality is now at 132 and continues to slowly improve. At 7:30 am, the air quality is at 136. The Roseburg high school boys varsity/jv soccer games here in Roseburg have been canceled. At 6:45 am, the air quality is at 144 in Roseburg. Winds will slowly start moving some of the smoke out of the area later this morning with much more improvement seen by late afternoon early and evening. Update 9 am: Pacific Power is now inspecting their lines and once deemed safe, they are going to begin restoring service to customers. 🙌 No update from Pacific Power this morning yet. I believe there are still over 1k residents out in the Glide area going east without power due to the safety shutoff. Our weather is going to improve significantly starting Sunday into next week. Much cooler temperatures with high temps in the high 70's coming this next week!
