Roseburg High Track and Field Teams Triumph in Dual Meet Against South Eugene

Roseburg High School's track and field team emerged victorious in their second dual meet of the season against South Eugene yesterday. Grant Gober led the charge for the boys' team, winning the 100-meter race with a time of 11.64 seconds and the long jump with a distance of 20'8.5". Mykah Mendoza contributed to the team's success with his performances in the high jump, clearing 5'8", and triple jump, reaching a distance of 40'3". The Roseburg boys displayed a strong performance in the competition, achieving a 78-58 victory over South Eugene. Additional first-place finishes included Brody Robinson's 400-meter race, completed in 53.89 seconds, and Timothy Johnson's 1,500-meter race, with a time of 4:15.74. In the field events, Joshua Godfrey's shot put throw of 40'10.5", Emmett Kalar's javelin throw of 148'11", and Landen Simpson's pole vault of 8'6" contributed to the team's success. On the girls' side, the Roseburg team also displayed their prowess, winning seven individual events and securing a 75-61 victory over South Eugene. Kasemsri Miele's 100-meter race saw her cross the finish line in 13.75 seconds, while Amy Whitney claimed first place in the shot put with a throw of 27'0". Kirra Farrer won the discus event with a throw of 72'11.5", and Sienna Nunemaker secured first place in the high jump with a height of 4'4". Bridget Brooksby topped the pole vault with a height of 8'0", while Holly Brewster won the long jump event with a distance of 14'8.5". Caroline Knudson took first place in the triple jump with a distance of 28'10", and the 4x400 relay team, consisting of Charis Childers, Addison Scalf, Faith Gaines, and Corinne Childers, finished with a triumphant time of 4:30.01.
