Thunder Mountain Fire Burns Several Acres 9 Miles SE of Glide

On Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at approximately 4:30 pm., crews from Glide Rural Fire Protection District and Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) responded to an estimated 2–3-acre fire located in slash and timber, about 9 miles southeast of Glide, OR, in the Thunder Mountain area. 

Fire suppression responders are currently engaged in an initial attack with a tender, a dozer, and several engines. Additional resources are currently en route. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

At this time, there are no structures or homes threatened by this fire.
