The Glide volleyball team lost to Bonanza in straights sets in a Southern Cascade League playoff match Tuesday night. The match determined who would be the top seed coming out of the league for the state playoffs. Set scores were 25-23, 25-20, 25-18. Kylie Anderson had 10 kills and three blocks for the Wildcats. Ruby Livingston had 12 kills and six blocks. Freshman Kamryn Aumock had 27 digs and Lily Ranger added 13 assists. “It was a really close game,” Glide coach Stephanie Furlong said. “I am really happy about how our defense played and our serves were on, we just weren’t as strong at the net as we needed to be tonight.” Glide (12-12) will have the second seed coming out of the SCL and will be on the road on Saturday in the first round of the state playoffs. “Kamryn Aumock really stepped up. She made our defense air tight,” Furlong said. “I couldn’t believe the digs she was picking up. I am so excited to see what is ahead for her. Kylie and Ruby both had a lot of touches on blocks, they were working hard tonight and it was easily our strongest blocking game.” The Wildcats are ranked 27th according to the 2A power rankings. The rankings will freeze tonight at 10p.m. and the playoff brackets will be released Wednesday at 9 a.m. at which point Glide will find out its opponent for Saturday. “Luckily, we aren’t done yet. We’re anxiously awaiting the rankings so we know for sure who we are up against on Saturday.” Furlong said.
