Hemlock Trail Now Open at Crater Lake National Park

11:30 PM · Feb 7, 2020

(Crater Lake) Thanks to the hard work of our Crater Lake Ski Patrol, the Hemlock Trail is now marked and ready for your skiing/snowshoeing enjoyment! The Hemlock Trail is about a 1.3 mile loop that starts behind the Crater Lake Lodge and circles through the trees near what is the Rim Village Picnic Area in the summer. It is rated as an intermediate (blue square) trail due to some moderate hills. The Crater Lake Ski Patrol consists of volunteers who assist Park Rangers with patrol of trails, search & rescue, visitor education and assistance, and maintenance of trail signs. In exchange for about one weekend a month of volunteer work, the NPS offers training, lodging at the park, and an incredible place to enjoy and help protect.
