Backside Brewing To Open New Location in Downtown Sutherlin
(City of Sutherlin Release) Sutherlin, OR – The City of Sutherlin will soon be welcoming a new business to the downtown as part of its revitalization. The owners of Backside Brewing, K.C. & Savannah Mckillip will be formalizing a lease agreement on February 14 th at 1p.m. with Roger Johnson for the building located at 105 West Central which at one time was the location of the Fusion Restaurant and will now be the new site for the Backside Brewing Company. The brew pub made a success of their brand in Roseburg and will bring that infusion into the center of Sutherlin. Upon meeting Jerry Gillham, City Manager for Sutherlin, Mr. Mckillip states that he was sold on the idea of opening another brew pub in this location. “The new Urban Renewal District’s proposed projects fit perfectly with our vision of establishing another brew pub outlet in Douglas County. “We definitely want to be a part of the future of downtown Sutherlin.” The mission of the city is to transform not only the image of Sutherlin but also create economic growth and long term vitality. “This is the first of a hopeful number of new businesses coming to downtown Sutherlin from our Urban Renewal efforts. Backside brewing is already a successful brew pub in Roseburg now expanding to Sutherlin and we couldn’t be more pleased to have them.” Todd McKnight, Mayor of Sutherlin.
