A Look Into A Great-Blue Heron Rookery
I discovered this Great-Blue Heron rookery yesterday afternoon along the North Umpqua River. A Great-Blue Heron Rookery is the place where Blue Herons come to nest every year from February to May. Great-Blue Herons primarily nest in trees. Rookeries can range from 4 to a few hundred nests and occasionally you might find one lone nest. This rookery I came across had 9 nests in it and I counted around fifteen in the tree. Photo taken 4-6-21 in Douglas County Photo by Abraham Finlay
That's so awesome!
