Roseburg Fire Department Dedicates New Engine

5:57 AM · Jan 6, 2022

The Roseburg Fire Department is replacing an engine that's over 20 years old and welcoming the new one with a traditional “Push In” ceremony Thursday, January 6 at 9:00 a.m at the Roseburg Fire Department, Station Two, located at 2177 W. Harvard Avenue. This is the first time the Roseburg FD will do the push in ceremony, but it's been a tradition since the days when the fire apparatus was drawn by horses. The horses couldn't back it in, so the crew push it into the bay. The new engine is a 2021 Pierce Impel 1500 gallon per minute pumper. The state-of-the-art pumper was designed and outfitted by City of Roseburg Fire Department Apparatus Committee members. The new engine will replace a 1997 KME engine that served fifteen years as a first out fire engine and ten years as a reserve.
