Crews Making Great Progress on the Twelvemile & Other Area Fires
10:38 PM · Sep 8, 2022The Twelvemile Road Fire was discovered yesterday afternoon near Camas Valley. It is being managed by Coos Fire Prevention Agency. The fire is approximately 70 acres in size. Currently, aircraft, handcrews, tenders, dozers, and engines as well as support services are working on the fire. There is not an estimated containment yet. Six other fires started after a lightning storm near Tiller and Milo yesterday. The fires have been 100% trailed, plumbed and were mopped-up through the night. Crews will continue to secure lines until 100% of mop-up is achieved throughout the next couple days. Crews continue to monitor and patrol the area. Aircraft may be used periodically throughout the weekend. Three fires started on July 30 near Diamond Lake. The Windigo Fire burned 1,006.93 acres and is 100% contained. The Potter Fire has burned 631.52 acres and is 99% contained. The Big Swamp Fire burned 110.55 acres.
