Alan Roy Farmer

Alan Roy Farmer was born on Sept. 18, 1950, in Saint Louis, Miss., and passed away on Jan. 15, 2022. He left behind his wife Beverly, daughter Athena Farmer and son Christopher Farmer. He joined the marines right out of high school. He did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was decorated with a national defense service medal, Vietnam service medals, rifle sharpshooter, Vietnam campaign medals with device, combat action ribbon, and good conduct medals. He contracted agent orange in Vietnam which ultimately took his life. But he also did a lot for disabled veterans and was a member of disabled services during his later years. As a disabled athlete from 1989 to 1996, He won multiple bronze, silver, and gold medals throughout those years of competition. His favorite saying was always "just do it." When he was in the cultural exchange organization in the fall of 1989, he came home with fourth place in the downhill slalom on his first try. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1969, and in 1993 he volunteered for the world cultural expo at Maria Costa Mesa College and eventually graduated from there.
