7.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Eureka, Tsunami Warning for Oregon

Update: NO TSUNAMI THREAT NOW. Threat has passed. There was just a 7.0 magnitude earthquake 45 miles SW of Eureka on the California Coast. A tsunami Warning is now in effect which includes the coastal areas of California and Oregon from Davenport, California (10 miles NW of Santa Cruz) to Douglas/Lane Line, Oregon (10 miles SW of Florence). Residents are encouraged to move to higher ground in the coastal areas until officials give the clearance it is safe to return. More information to come as it becomes available.
