After the major precipitation that caused flooding, we've been quite dry. Yes, there's rain in the forecast, but it won't be enough to replenish moisture in the upper root zone. Every time irrigation is used (with some very limited exceptions) water is lost to evaporation. One exception is drip tube placed under the soil surface. Another exception is when it's raining. It may look silly to run irrigation while it's raining, but it's the most efficient time to be watering.

The sun has been enjoyable, but yeah we need more rain. It’s going to be hard on the rivers and the fire season as well.
