Here’s the latest update on Roseburg high school athletics from Roseburg Public Schools: “IMPORTANT UPDATE: COMMUNITY ADVOCACY PROTECTS OPPORTUNITY FOR RHS ATHLETES Because of strong, unified community advocacy, Roseburg High School student-athletes will continue competing in a seven-team conference through 2030. Your voices were heard, and they made a difference. Following extensive feedback from families, students, staff, and community members across Southern Oregon, the Oregon School Activities Association approved a 5A/6A hybrid conference structure that keeps Roseburg High School in a full, seven-team conference rather than a four-school model. RHS will compete in a seven-team conference with the following schools through the 2026–2030 classification cycle: • Roseburg High School (6A) • Grants Pass High School (6A) • North Medford High School (6A) • South Medford High School (6A) • Ashland High School (5A) • Crater High School (5A) • Eagle Point High School (5A) What this means for RHS student-athletes: • More consistent and equitable competition • Balanced schedules • Reduced travel demands • Fewer missed class hours • Continued visibility and opportunity Most importantly, this outcome supports our student-athletes’ growth by preserving equitable, meaningful competitive opportunities that honor their hard work and dedication while supporting both their academic and athletic development. We are deeply grateful to everyone who spoke up, shared their perspective, and advocated for what is best for our students. This outcome reflects the power of a community that shows up and stands together. It shows what is possible when a community comes together with purpose to protect opportunity and build a strong future for its children. 👉 Click here to view the full OSAA announcement and the approved classifications and districts for 2026–2030: https://www.osaa.org/today/article/4704/view?title=Classifications+and+districts+approved+for+2026-30 Thank you for showing up.
