Twenty-eight homes will be open in a single afternoon, spread across Roseburg, Winchester, Sutherlin, Oakland, Winston, Riddle, and Myrtle Creek. Roseburg alone has seventeen homes on the list, with showings starting as early as 10 a.m. and the last doors staying open until 4 p.m. Whether you're a first-time buyer just starting to look or someone who's been watching the market for a while, there's a good chance something on the list is worth a visit.

The day is built to be low-pressure and easy. Local agents will be on hand at each home to answer questions, talk through the neighborhood, and help you get a feel for what fits. No appointment needed, just show up and look around.

"With unseasonably hot and dry conditions, Umpqua National Forest officials will raise the fire danger level from 'low' to 'high' and Public Use Restrictions (PURs) will move to Stage 1 beginning at 12:01 a.m., Friday, June 19, 2026. In PURs Stage 1 all campfires are prohibited outside of Forest Service-constructed fire rings in designated recreation sites under a Forest Order.

Stage I PURs:

All campfires, charcoal or briquette fires, pellet fires, and any other open fires are prohibited outside Forest Service-constructed fire rings within designated recreation areas. Campfires fueled by pressurized fuel/propane are allowed. Campfires in wilderness are not prohibited.

Smoking is prohibited except within an enclosed vehicle, building or area cleared of flammable material at least three feet in diameter.

Internal Combustion Engine – Chainsaws – No chainsaw use is allowed from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a one-hour fire watch requirement at all other times.

Motorized vehicles may operate only on designated trails and roads. Use of vehicles off National Forest system roads is prohibited except in an area devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of roadway or minimal travel over bare mineral soil to access dispersed camping sites.

The City of Roseburg Fire Department, Central Douglas Fire & Rescue, and Cow Creek Tribal Fire Management will be actively engaging in wildland fire training exercises on Reservoir Hill today, June 17, as well as June 19 and 20, 2026. During the training exercises, live burning will occur throughout the day. Training will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Firefighters may remain at the training location for an extended period after training has concluded for site cleanup.

The wildland fire training exercises are being conducted under carefully planned and controlled conditions to reduce the amount of fuel available for future wildfires.  This training provides firefighters with valuable hands-on experience while helping create safer conditions that can slow the spread and intensity of potential wildfires in our community.

The City of Roseburg would like to thank Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and Cow Creek Tribal Fire Management for their assistance, support, and participation in the upcoming wildland fire training. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of inter-agency interoperability and provides critical benefits to all agencies involved by enhancing coordinated response capabilities and overall preparedness. The City of Roseburg Fire Department would also like to thank the City of Roseburg Police Department for providing additional assistance related to the training.

The bakery's new home will be at 236 N. Main St. in Myrtle Creek, just off Exit 108. This week is the final stretch of operations at the Roseburg shop before the transition.

The move was not part of the business's original plans. According to the bakery, an extensive search for available space in Roseburg did not produce a workable option, and an opportunity in Myrtle Creek opened up instead. The new space offers more room to expand its lineup of sourdough breads, pastries, and other items.

A grand opening date for the Myrtle Creek location has not been set yet. They will share updates as plans are finalized

Roseburg Fire Department wants to remind residents to use caution when using mowers and lawn equipment during hot and dry conditions.  It is a good reminder to residents within the city limits of Roseburg that mowers and all power equipment should be used in the early morning hours or late evening during these hot and dry conditions, especially when cutting dried, cured grass.  Residents are encouraged to have a water supply and/or extinguisher readily available when using these tools.

The Douglas County Parks Department, in partnership with the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) and the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) announce upcoming temporary staggered closures of the East and West Boat Docks, Ramps and associated parking areas at Cooper Creek County Park to accommodate a much-anticipated marine infrastructure improvement project. The project includes replacement of both boat docks and parking lot paving designed to improve public access, safety, and recreational boating opportunities.

The East Boat Ramp, Dock and Parking Lot, located on the east end of the reservoir off Cooper Creek Road, will be closed beginning June 17, 2026, for construction activities, including boarding dock replacement, parking lot resurfacing, and related site accessibility improvements. During construction, the East Boat Ramp area will be fully closed to the public, and no vehicle, pedestrian, or boating access will be available. Contractors anticipate completing work and reopening the facility by June 22, 2026; however, construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Throughout this phase of the project, the West Boat Ramp will remain open and available for public boat launching and recreational use.

The West Boat Ramp, Dock and Parking Lot, located off Edgewater Drive adjacent to the front entrance of the park and the dam, will close beginning July 5, 2026, to allow for similar improvements, including Boarding dock replacement, parking lot resurfacing, and related site accessibility improvements. The site will be fully closed to the public during construction, with no vehicle, pedestrian, or boating access available. The Contractor anticipates completing work and reopening the facility on or before September 4, 2026; although weather conditions may affect the project timeline. During this phase, visitors will be directed to use the East Boat Ramp for boating access and recreational activities.

The project will modernize both launch facilities by replacing aging boat docks and upgrading adjacent parking areas. These upgrades are intended to enhance public safety, increase accessibility, and provide an improved recreational experience for boaters and park visitors. Through a request for bids process, Topper Industries I, LLC, was awarded the dock replacement contract, and local contractor JRT Construction, LLC, was awarded the paving contract.

Project funding is being provided through OSMB 2025-2027 Cycle One and Cycle Two Facility Grant award #1743 ($561,736), federal pass thru U.S. Fish and Wildlife Sport Fish Restoration funds via Sub-Award Grant #293-25 from ODFW ($485,209), Umpqua Fishery Enhancement Derby ($3,500), Sutherlin Rotary Club ($1,000), and $403,150 in matching Douglas County Park revenue funds. The OSMB grant funding program uses revenue generated from motorized boater fees and taxes to support the development and improvement of boating facilities statewide. The ODFW grant is from the Sport Fish Restoration federal program with revenue generated from user excise taxes on fishing gear and boat fuel that is passed through to states to support recreational boating access projects.

Douglas County appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during construction as these important and exciting improvements are completed. Again, at least one ramp/dock will remain open during the construction process. Please use extra caution and follow construction, detour, and warning signs posted at the park. The project is expected to be completed by Labor Day Weekend 2026.

Cooper Creek County Park is located approximately three miles southeast of Sutherlin and provides recreational access to the 166-acre Cooper Creek Reservoir. The Douglas County Parks Department was established in 1949 and was the first County Park system in Oregon. From the Pacific Ocean to the Cascades and throughout the 100 Valleys of the Umpqua, the Park system now encompasses 70 properties, including 23 boat ramps, 11 campgrounds and 42-day use parks. East and West boat ramps closing on staggered schedules

The Douglas County Parks Department, in partnership with the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) and the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) announce upcoming temporary staggered closures of the East and West Boat Docks, Ramps and associated parking areas at Cooper Creek County Park to accommodate a much-anticipated marine infrastructure improvement project. The project includes replacement of both boat docks and parking lot paving designed to improve public access, safety, and recreational boating opportunities.

The East Boat Ramp, Dock and Parking Lot, located on the east end of the reservoir off Cooper Creek Road, will be closed beginning June 17, 2026, for construction activities, including boarding dock replacement, parking lot resurfacing, and related site accessibility improvements. During construction, the East Boat Ramp area will be fully closed to the public, and no vehicle, pedestrian, or boating access will be available. Contractors anticipate completing work and reopening the facility by June 22, 2026; however, construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Throughout this phase of the project, the West Boat Ramp will remain open and available for public boat launching and recreational use.

The West Boat Ramp, Dock and Parking Lot, located off Edgewater Drive adjacent to the front entrance of the park and the dam, will close beginning July 5, 2026, to allow for similar improvements, including Boarding dock replacement, parking lot resurfacing, and related site accessibility improvements.
