11:21 PM · Sep 20, 2023ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Oregon Primary Care Association (OPCA) recognized Aviva Health CEO KC Bolton with the 2023 Award of Excellence in the Innovation and Transformation in Leadership category yesterday at the organization’s Fall All-peer Group Gathering in Eugene. According to OPCA, each year it takes pride in honoring the individuals and organizations of the community health center (CHC) movement in Oregon who do outstanding work to deliver integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health services to communities that might not otherwise have access to care. OPCA says the Innovation and Leadership in Transformation Award highlights individuals or organizations “leading the effort to establish CHCs as centers of excellence through community partnerships and clinical, operational, and administrative practices.” Since Bolton began at Aviva Health, he has led a variety of successful initiatives, including the opening of a North County clinic in Drain, establishing a free-standing denture lab in Roseburg, and launching a dedicated dental clinic in Myrtle Creek for people in South County. He also was instrumental in starting Douglas County’s first-ever family medicine residency program, oversaw a significant building expansion of the Aviva Health main Roseburg campus, played a critical role in Douglas County’s efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, and has spent a great deal of time and energy fortifying the organization’s culture. “We’re incredibly proud of everything KC has achieved so far during his tenure as CEO,” says Ruth Galster, President of the Aviva Health Board of Directors. “He exemplifies the spirit of this award and continues to work hard to ensure the people of Douglas County have access to quality, compassionate health care and Aviva Health employees have a great place to work.” For more information, please visit www.aviva.health.
