Collegiate Baseball Matchup Coming to Champion Car Wash Field June 9
Roseburg will host a special matchup to open the summer baseball season as the Springfield Drifters take on the Medford Rogues on Monday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m. at Champion Car Wash Field. The game marks the official opening day for the Douglas County Baseball Association, a new nonprofit formed to oversee Legion Field and the local American Legion baseball program. The event follows the retirement of longtime Legion commissioners and represents a fresh chapter for summer baseball in the area. UCC baseball coach Jake Whisler, now serving as the Executive Director of DCBA, is helping lead the charge. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up. Kids 12 and under get in for $5. This cross-conference matchup between two respected summer collegiate programs is expected to draw a crowd. Organizers encourage families and baseball fans to come out and support the return of community baseball to Roseburg. More information is available at PlayDCBA.com or on social media @PlayDCBA.
