Dixon Fire Update: Crews Work Through Night on 1,600-2,000 Acre Blaze

TILLER, ORE: Originally called the Tiller Trail Fire, this fire is officially named the DIXON FIRE due to multiple agency involvement and will be addressed as such moving forward for reporting conformity. Night crews continued aggressively working on building lines on the estimated 1,600 – 2,000-acre fire and addressing some spot fires. Structural, wildland, landowner, and heavy equipment resources continued to arrive throughout the day, with the official briefing of ODF’s Incident Management Team 2 scheduled for today at 4:30 p.m. DFPA’s air attack is currently grounded due to limited visibility caused by the current smoke impediment. If and when smoke conditions clear, DFPA will launch aerial resources. Evacuation levels continue to be in place, as communicated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO).
