12:58 AM · Jun 5, 2024ROSEBURG, Ore. – Kick back under the stars with free, family friendly entertainment when “Movies in the Park” returns in June. Bring a blanket and enjoy a fun-filled evening with friends and family. Cosponsored by Roseburg Parks and Recreation and Rogue Credit Union, the free series will be held at the Stewart Park Nichols Band Shell -- aka the “Half Shell” -- on Friday evenings in June. This summer’s PG-rated movies will be: • Friday, June 7: “Wish” • Friday, June 14: “Migration” • Friday, June 21: “Elemental” • Friday, June 28: “Wonka” Each week, pre-movie entertainment is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Past entertainment has varied from music and kids’ crafts to wild animal meet-and-greets. Entertainment is followed by a movie starting at dusk, or about 9 p.m. Face-painting and snacks, including popcorn, will be available to purchase. Guests can bring their own food and drinks. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed. “We encourage the community to come out to Stewart Park with a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy some free entertainment this summer. My favorite part about this location is that there isn’t a bad seat in the house,” said Roseburg Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David. All movies and activities are weather-permitting and subject to change. Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult. As a reminder, smoking is not allowed in the park. In addition, dogs are not allowed at “Movies in the Park” to help keep the event enjoyable for all.
