Illegal Camps in the Roseburg Duck Pond Natural Area Closed and Cleaned Up this Week

Roseburg Police in conjunction with the City of Roseburg have closed down all the illegal camps in the Natural Area behind the Duck Pond. RPD first visited the campers Monday morning. Notice and time was given to the campers to gather up their camps and move out. This morning the campers were evicted and the campsites were mostly cleaned up as far as I could tell. It is a beautiful area back behind the duck pond with trails that go most of the way around the pond. There is quite a bit of maintenance on some walking bridges that need to be done as well as a massive landscaping tree thinning that should take place. Visibility all through that area must increase or it will forever be a problem. Hopefully we can get things opened up more!
