Jadyn Vermillion had 36 points Friday night to help the Sutherlin girls basketball team defeat Waldport 67-41 for their sixth straight win to start the season. The Bulldogs (6-0) are playing in the Willamina Tournament, where they will play Willamina Saturday at 4 p.m. for the tournament title. Vermillion was two points off the school record of 38 points. Amy Dickover had a double-double with 18 points for the Bulldogs. “Willamina will be a good test for us tomorrow," Sutherlin coach Josh Grotting said. "They’re up there in the top ten in the rankings. Our schedule will get a little tougher ahead. These (six) games we should be winning, it’s good to be winning but the next week will be a good measuring stick for where we are.”
