Large Pile of Railroad Ties Set on Fire for the Second Time in Three Weeks
At 11:37pm last night, a large fire was reported in Green off of Highway 99. It knocked out a fiber optic communications box which affected landline service to areas in Southern Douglas County. The fire was not started by a train according to railroad employees. The previous pile of railroad ties that was set on fire was located next to a transient camp in South Roseburg called "Freedom Camp" on June 24th. Photos courtesy of Roseburg Fire District 2
