Local Volleyball Teams Begin State Tournament Play Today!!

Days Creek kicks off the 1A state tournament at 10 a.m. with a quarterfinal match against Perrydale. If the No. 2 Wolves win, they would play in a semifinal match at 1 p.m. The No. 5 seed South Umpqua plays in the 3A state tournament starting at 1:15 p.m. against No. 13 Vale. The No. 8 seed Sutherlin also will be in the 3A tournament playing at 1:15 p.m. against top ranked Santiam Christian in a quarterfinal match. If both the Lancers and Bulldogs win, they would face each other in the semifinal at 8:30 p.m. tonight.
