New Outdoor Tennis and Pickleball Courts Coming to Umpqua Valley Tennis Center This Fall

Roseburg, OR — A major renovation of the public outdoor courts at Umpqua Valley Tennis Center is set to begin next week, marking a significant investment in the region’s recreational infrastructure. The long-anticipated project will completely rebuild the outdoor facility from the ground up, replacing existing courts with eight brand-new tennis courts and ten new pickleball courts. Tear-down is set to begin on Monday, May 19, 2025. Once construction is underway, the outdoor courts will remain closed until the project is completed in the fall. During this period, indoor courts will stay open and available for use. All 18 new courts, eight for tennis and ten for pickleball will feature state-of-the-art LED lighting to support evening play and improve visibility. The project reflects a growing demand for expanded access to court sports and aims to provide a modernized space for players of all ages and skill levels. The updated court layout, shared publicly by the organization, shows a streamlined design that balances competitive and recreational needs. Local residents and visiting athletes alike will benefit from the improved infrastructure. UVTC has a rich history of community involvement, with the original courts constructed largely through volunteer efforts and private donations. The center has since expanded to include indoor courts and facilities, serving the local tennis and pickleball enthusiasts.
