NWS Medford Issues Thunderstorm Warnings for Douglas County Tonight

The risk for thunderstorms and lightning is present this weekend with most areas under a limited to elevated risk later today. Chances increase west of the Cascades this evening and overnight, including along the coast. Areas east of the Cascades will have a risk during this time and into tomorrow afternoon/evening. Impacts from these storms include gusty winds and lightning. Distant lightning is also possible, meaning that lightning can strike outside of the thunderstorm. The area denoted in yellow indicates a 20% chance for thunderstorms, orange indicates a 25-50% chance for thunderstorms, and red indicates a 60% chance for thunderstorms. Thunderstorm chances will continue into Sunday with similar areas at the coast and east of the Cascades with the largest risks. Via NWS Medford
