Several Feet of Snow to Fall in Cascades, High Winds & Heavy Rainfall Expected at Lower Elevations

Snow levels start around 3000-4000 ft on Friday, rising to 6000 ft by Saturday afternoon, then up to 8000 ft by Sunday afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 18 to 30 inches will make for extremely difficult travel conditions, and travel should be avoided in these areas if possible. The heaviest snow is expected Friday morning/afternoon and again early Saturday morning. A wind advisory is in effect for portions of the area east of the Cascades where gusts of 35 to 45 mph will be common. The strongest winds are expected Friday and Saturday afternoons. If traveling this weekend, be sure to allow for extra time to reach your destination and be sure to bring your winter weather kit with you. Remember to check road conditions before venturing out!
