Snow Possible on Valley Floors Early Next Week
After 2-3 weeks of cold dry weather, precipitation is finally on it's way. Lots of rain and even some snow will fall at lower elevations, and lots of snow at higher elevations and we will have some windy conditions at times as well. Roseburg has the best chance of receiving some snow either Monday night into Tuesday morning or Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Don't expect it to stick around very long as daytime temperatures will rise quite a bit. Crater Lake National Park currently has 96 inches of snow, which is 19 inches higher than normal for this time of year which is pretty impressive for not getting any new snow for weeks. This weekends storm could end up dropping 24-30 inches of new snow at Crater Lake according to forecasts from Friday through Sunday morning.
It probably won't be a huge deal, but getting propane tanks filled and checking generators before the weather system comes would be a good idea.
