The Days Creek volleyball team swept North Douglas Thursday night in a Skyline League matchup between two of the top teams in the conference.
5:05 AM · Sep 20, 2019Set scores were 25-23, 25-14, 25-13. Days Creek is 4-0 in Skyline League play while the Warriors (9-4, 4-1) dropped to 4-1. “It was a battle. North Douglas is a good team, really scrappy,” Days Creek coach Gloria Kruzic said. “Always fun to play them. They’re always great competitors.” Moriah Michaels had seven kills and seven digs for Days Creek (8-1, 4-0). Joleen Crume had 12 kills and five digs while Ashtyn Slater had five aces, nine kills and seven digs. Megan Kruzic added 25 assists and Fiona Ketchem had 8 digs for Days Creek. “I’m very proud of my girls tonight. They have been really working in practice on cutting down on errors,” Gloria Kruzic said. “I thought they really did a good job with that tonight. We had a great crowd and cheering section from our football boys.” North Douglas plays Umpqua Valley Christian next Tuesday at home. Days Creek plays at Pacific next Tuesday.
