The Glide volleyball team defeated Lakeview 3-0 Tuesday night in their Southern Cascade League opener.
Set scores were 25-8, 25-22, 25-20. The Wildcats (2-7, 1-0 SCL) were led by Lily Ranger who had eight aces and 15 assists. Mckynzie Swain had 20 assists for Glide. “Lily did a great job serving all three sets, she stepped up and came in clutch the last set, serving 10 in a row to bring us up from behind to win the set.” Glide coach Stephanie Furlong said. After losing their first six matches of the season, the Wildcats have won two out of the last three matches. “The girls overcame their nerves and I was really proud of them,” Furlong said. “Every game has been such a huge learning experience for them. This one was especially important because it showed them they are capable of whatever they set their minds to. I’m excited for Thursday.” Glide hosts Illinois Valley on Thursday at 5:15 p.m.
