The Glide volleyball team defeated Lakeview in straight sets Thursday night in a Southern Cascade League match.

Set scores were 25-8, 25-12, 25-11. Glide played in pink uniforms on their Pink Night to honor those who have fought or are fighting breast cancer. Glide (7-9, 5-2 SCL) was led by Lilly Ranger who had seven assists and 10 aces. Kylie Anderson had five kills, five aces and five digs while Ruby Livingston had five kills. “We played better than the first time we saw them this season, which was exciting to see,” Glide coach Stephanie Furlong said. “The girls served very strong and minimized their errors.” The Wildcats have won two league games in a row and sit in second place in the Southern Cascade League, two games behind Bonanza with five matches remaining. “I wanted them to play their game, not to get caught up in what the other team was doing or their emotions, and that’s exactly what they did,” Furlong said. “They were very consistent and I was happy all around with their performance.” Glide plays at Illinois Valley next Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
