The Roseburg boys soccer team lost to Sheldon 2-0 Wednesday night in a Southwest Conference match.
5:00 AM · Sep 26, 2019The Indians (0-5-1, 0-2) gave up two goals in three minutes, with the first coming in the 21st minute and the second goal in the 24th minute. The first goal came on a counter attack and the other goal came off a corner kick. Sheldon (2-3, 2-0) is tied for first place in the SWC. “We played an excellent game,” Roseburg coach Jim Giraudo said. “We controlled the field most of the game, we out shot and out possessed Sheldon by a wide margin.” Giraudo said Archer Bergeron, Attreyu Pinard and Tyson Bustamante had excellent games. “We just couldn’t get the ball in the net. The Sheldon keeper had a great game,” Giraudo said. “It was one of those games where the better team lost. We outplayed them for 77 of the 80 minutes.” Roseburg plays North Medford on Saturday at 1 p.m. on Finlay Field.
