The Skyline League volleyball schedule was highlighted by North Douglas, Elkton, Camas Valley, Riddle and Days Creek victories.

The No. 10 ranked North Douglas volleyball team beat New Hope Christian in straight sets Tuesday night in a Skyline League match. Set scores were 25-18, 25-11, 25-13. “We have been playing well,” North Douglas coach Emily Reed said. “We’re a very different team from last year and are still trying to work in some younger players to fill spots. But we are improving and working to be consistent.” Nicki Derrick had six kills for North Douglas (7-3, 2-0) and Halli Vaughn added four kills. Rilie-jo Olds had six aces and Bailey Holcomb added eight aces. “We started off a little slow, played better in the second and third sets and made fewer mistakes.” Reed said. North Douglas plays at Yoncalla on Thursday. The Elkton volleyball team beat Yoncalla 3-1 Tuesday night in a Skyline League north match. Set scores were 25-17, 25-16, 23-25, 25-8. The Elks (3-1, 2-0) were led by Samantha McCall who had 10 kills and four aces. Natasha Shepherd added 10 Assists and 14 Digs. Aspyn Luzier had four kills and four aces while Kieryn Carnes had eight digs, five assists and seven aces. Elkton hosts Powers on Wednesday and Umpqua Valley Christian on Thursday as they play three games in three straight nights. Yoncalla (2-4, 0-2) play North Douglas on Thursday. The No. 7 ranked Days Creek defeated Umpqua Valley Christian in straight sets Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-8, 25-12, 25-11. Days Creek (6-1, 2-0) plays Yoncalla next Tuesday while UVC (1-2, 0-2) plays Elkton on Thursday. Camas Valley swept Pacific in straight sets 25-23, 25-12, 25-12 to improve to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Skyline League play. The Hornets play New Hope Christian on Thursday. Riddle defeated Powers in three sets winning 25-20, 25-23, 25-19 for their first win of the season. Riddle (1-2, 1-1) plays Glendale on Thursday. Photo is of North Douglas volleyball team.
