UVC Boys Soccer Defeats Glide 8-1

Spencer Adams had four goals for Umpqua Valley Christian as they downed Glide 8-1, in their Special District 4 league opener at Fir Grove Park. Devin McLaughlin had two goals for UVC (2-0, 1-0). Nathan York and Sam Guastaferro each had one goal for the Monarchs. “Our possession was good, our transition to attack was good. We were comfortable but didn’t just sit back and play a relaxed game. We played with confidence and looked to attack.” UVC head coach Chris Guastaferro said. Spencer Adams scored in the 5th, 16th, 34th and 79th minutes. Nathan York added his in the 6th minute. Sam Guastaferro scored in the 65th minute. Devin McLaughlin added goals in the 73rd and 89th minute. UVC had 20 shots on goal, six assists and two saves. Brent Narkiewicz scored Glide’s only goal in the 18th minute. He was assisted by Hunter Rienhart in the 18th. Glide (0-1, 0-1) had four shots on goal and one assist.
