Wednesday Morning MP97 Fire Update: Fire Now 25% Contained, 12,578 Acres

The Milepost 97 fire is now just over 12,578 acres, which is only a 242 acre increase over the last 24 hours. This represents the lowest increase since the fire began. Last night, DFPA announced that the fire was 25% contained, which is excellent news, especially for all the homeowners in the Azalea and Glendale areas. Weather - Today there will be morning clouds that burn off and it will be a bit hotter and drier than yesterday. NE winds of 3-6 mph, then NW 4-8 mph with 12 gusts. Traffic - ODOT will be doing rolling slowdowns along I-5 as they work to take down some of the burned out trees along the freeway, so expect traffic to be slow from Milepost 100-88 or so.
