Wet, Cooler Weather Ahead This Weekend
9:59 PM · Jun 4, 2020(NWS) After a stretch of warm and dry weather, we’ll swing back to cooler and wetter weather this weekend. Friday will be a transition day where temperatures will begin a downward trend and clouds will increase. Some isolated showers will be possible along the coast, Cascades and East Side with possible thunderstorms east of the Cascades. By Saturday, temperatures will cool significantly and widespread showers will affect the area, especially after noon. Thunderstorms are also possible Saturday, however, this system will NOT be like last weekend’s system. We currently aren’t expecting any severe thunderstorms. Snow levels will lower to 4500 ft overnight Saturday. Sunday will be the coolest day of the forecast period and precipitation will be showery with snow levels around 5000 ft. Expect the coldest air to arrive Sunday night into Monday as this system departs and skies clear. This will bring a risk of frost or freezing conditions, especially in portions of northern California and over the East Side.
