Women’s ‘Just for Fun’ Golf Tees Off at Stewart Park Golf
6:53 PM · Jul 1, 2020Summer is the perfect time to get outside and golf. Women’s ‘Just for Fun’ Summer Golf is back for another season at the Stewart Park Golf Course. The summer golf program is sponsored by the City of Roseburg Parks and Recreation Division. The program is a fun, lighthearted women’s golf class, perfect for friends old and new. Each class is held on Monday evenings, July 6 & 20 and August 3 & 17. Players can choose one or all of the classes, whichever fits their schedules. Check in begins at 5 p.m. with tee times at 5:30 p.m. Players will need to bring their own set of clubs and have a basic understanding of the game (program not instructional lessons). Players do not need to have an established handicap in order to participate. Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator, Velorie Ligon said “I love this class because it gives women an opportunity to play together in a relaxed environment, and each week gives everyone a chance to make new friends. No one takes their game too seriously; it’s just good fun.” The fee to join the women’s class is $5 per night plus a green fee of $10. Cart rentals are available for $5 per rider. The public is welcome to come out and enjoy some socially distanced fun. For more information, contact Velorie Ligon at vligon@cityofroseburg.org or call 541-492-6899.
