Glide Volleyball Wins A Pair of Matches To Kick Off Their Season

The Glide Wildcats volleyball team swept a pair of matches to start their season as they beat Rogue River 3-2 Friday and Lost River 3-0 Saturday. Glide won 25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 15-13. The 2A Wildcats (2-0) play in the Southern Cascade League. Glide went to the state playoffs in the 2019-20 season when they went 12-13 overall and 9-3 in league as they lost to Kennedy 0-3 in the first round of the playoffs. Kamryn Aumock had 15 digs and Mckynzie Swain had 23 assists for Glide. Hailey Rummel added 10 assists. Ella Wright had eight kills, while Kylie Anderson eight kills and two aces. Ruby Livingston also had eight kills and two aces and Teagan Triplett had nine kills and two aces against Rogue River. “The energy in the gym was electric tonight and these girls are just so grateful to play,” Glide coach Stephanie Furlong said. “They have an awesome team chemistry and it is so fun to coach them. We have so many big talents on the team but no star stands out, they all make each other shine brighter.” Stats were not available for the Lost River match. Glide plays at Illinois Valley on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
