Douglas County Birds: Golden Eagle
The Golden Eagle can be found all across the United States and also around Douglas County. A good place to look for Golden Eagles is out Diamond Lake Boulevard and any large wide open fields. The Golden Eagle is often seen soaring over large fields, canyons, forests, and large mountains ranges. Golden Eagles eat primarily medium sized mammals like rabbits, prairie dogs, jackrabbits, and hares. Golden Eagles nest on cliffs and sometimes in tall trees. A Couple of my favorite things about this raptor is its golden head and 7 foot wingspan. Photo taken 3-23-21 flying over Roseburg in Douglas County Photo by Abraham Finlay
