Smoke Relief Might Not Come Until Weekend

Douglas County will be dealing with very smoky air at least until this weekend according to NWS in Medford this morning. Temperatures could reach slightly over 100 degrees today, but the smoke might again keep the area temps down a few degrees. Here is the quick forecast from NWS this morning: An upper level ridge over the Pacific Northwest will continue to build east over the area resulting in another hot day across the region. Temperatures this morning are generally running between 2 and 5 degrees warmer compared to 24 hours ago. We are expecting temperatures to be a few degrees warmer compared to yesterday afternoon...but overall pretty similar. Smoke will continue to impact much of the area with the most dense smoke moving northeast into southern Oregon from northern California later this morning into the afternoon hours. Unfortunately when it comes to smoke, no relief is in sight for at least the next few days. Otherwise...forecast looks on track...especially over the next few days where thunderstorms and new fire starts are the main concern. Please see below for a detailed discussion. -Riley
