Roseburg School District Innovating the Classroom

4:47 AM · Sep 7, 2022

The Roseburg School District has expanded its learning options for Douglas County students through Roseburg Virtual School. The school blends online learning with a local staff of teachers and the ability for students to have optional in-person learning opportunities with other students and in-person time with their teachers. This past week I visited with Roseburg Virtual School Principal Dani Jardine to hear more about the school and see firsthand how things are set up on the former Rose school campus building. "What I love the very most about Roseburg Virtual School is that it allows us to create partnerships with families so that parents and teachers are working together to create the very, very best non-traditional learning experiences for our kids. Because all of our kids are different, and all of our kids deserve the very best education they can get." Dani said. Currently, there are 65 students enrolled at RVS. Enrollment is open through next Friday, September 16th, and will reopen at the end of the quarter on October 24th. The school is available to K-8 students across Douglas County through the inter-district transfer request for students outside the Roseburg School District. If you have any questions or would like more information about Roseburg Virtual School you can call their office directly at (541) 440-4032 or visit their website at: https://rvs.roseburg.k12.or.us/ The school is located in the downtown Roseburg area at: 948 SE Roberts Avenue Roseburg, Oregon 97470
