Get set for fun movie nights as "Movies in the Park" comes back to Roseburg this summer. Thanks to Roseburg Parks and Recreation and Rogue Credit Union, families can enjoy free films at the "Half Shell" in Stewart Park every Friday in June. The series, which offers free entry to all, will take place on the first four Friday evenings in June. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a blanket and savor a delightful evening packed with fun and entertainment in the company of friends and family. The program will kick-off each week with pre-movie entertainment starting at 7:30 p.m. which has ranged from musical performances and kids' craft activities to exciting wild animal encounters in the past. This will be followed by a family-friendly PG-rated movie beginning at dusk, approximately around 9 p.m. "We're excited to offer a free event this summer to people looking for something fun to do together as a family," said Roseburg Recreation Coordinator Tracy Moser. This year's featured films are: • Friday, June 2: The Bad Guys • Friday, June 9: Minions: The Rise of Gru • Friday, June 16: DC League of Super-Pets • Friday, June 23: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish While popcorn and snacks will be available for purchase, attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages. However, the park strictly prohibits alcoholic drinks and tobacco. Parents are advised that children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and, for the comfort of all patrons, pets are not permitted. All scheduled movies and activities are weather-dependent and subject to change.
