Gallery Northwest - Guest Artists July 2023

Hello art lovers, In case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of good things going on in downtown Roseburg these days. With new shops and restaurants opening and summer in full swing, it’s a great time to come down and check out our three featured artists for the month of July! Our north window features Jani & Jim Brown. They are both founding members of Gallery Northwest. Jani is an amazing artist who works in many media. She is accomplished in pastels, watercolors, woodcarving, jewelry, and textiles. Her featured artwork this month includes more than a dozen decorative gourd pieces embellished with wood burning, oils, acrylics, alcohol inks, and dyes. These pieces must be seen to be believed. Jani’s husband Jim, is an equally diverse artist. He's not only an accomplished jazz musician, but works in a host of modalities including: wood, metal, textiles, jewelry and printmaking. His displayed pieces include fascinating mono prints of tree rings using Akua intaglio ink. These are true and artistic representations of nature. Also on display are a few of Jim’s unique metal-orb chandeliers and a beautiful trumpet lamp. Genell Garret’s work is featured in our south window. Genell has been creating art for five decades and has been a Gallery Northwest member for 8 years. She is an award-winning pastel artist and is equally accomplished in oils. Her featured pieces this month consist of beautiful western landscapes and wildlife studies depicting birds, bighorn sheep, horses, elk, and buffalo. Take this opportunity to not only enjoy these window displays but also please venture into the gallery to see more of the beautiful art created by these and the many other talented artists at Gallery Northwest.
