Area High School Students Work to Improve Roseburg Parks
9:55 PM · Oct 16, 2019This morning, 400 freshman from Roseburg High School, and 20 freshman from Douglas High School worked at several locations in the Roseburg Park system. The students helped remove blackberry bushes, downed branches, picked up trash and planted various trees and shrubs. Milkweed was planted in two different locations. Incense cedars, Shore Pines, some large ornamental trees, Oregon Grape and Oregon Oak were also planted. Students worked at the Butterfly Garden behind Legion Field, along the South Umpqua Greenway, Gaddis Park and Riverfront Disc Golf course. Big thank you to all the students and teachers that came out and worked today in the parks! Also big thank you to the Roseburg Parks Department for helping put this on! Great work everyone!
